Prizes were given to the five award-winning bands after their performance during the awards show hosted by MIMI’s associate producer Patrice Caron. Compared to the previous editions, the winners were selected this year by a jury composed of various members of the Montreal indie scene, without any solicited application and nomination process. Then, the event sponsors decided which band they wanted to reward. This new format is part of MIMI’s new initiative to support emerging artists.
